The runner.

The runner.

Let’s talk about staircases, and I can tell you’re hooked. What? Stairs? OH BOY, I’m so excited.

Unless you are the 99% of the world’s population that doesn’t live in a château, you have a LOT of staircases. Usually 12-15. Sometimes 100. And you need to figure out how to adorn them, because unlike yours truly, naked staircases just aren’t that beautiful, and stop it, Romeo, I’m taken.

Last week I was in Paris, and I came across this amazing runner at La Galerie du Tapis. Um, SOLD. I usually prefer kilim rugs because they fall apart instantly and look ancient even if they’re five minutes out of the Cost Plus parking lot. But this lovely thing was just too beautiful to pass up. Plus it was on sale and I’m kinda short on cash at the moment.

I had to install it myself because Pepito is still working on this monstrosity, and do not believe those people that tell you it’s easy. Hey, “This Old House” and your stupid Boston accents, it took me fourteen hours. And there were tackless strips and carpet clue and it felt more like a mouse-killing experiment than a château improvement. However, naked no more and I’m feeling proud, loves.

xxx, M.

I spent an hour at Cost Plus last weekend and came home with three rugs and fifteen pillows, and how does that happen?
